Mostly Indian (Key Imports)

Our Verdict: Most of the Nexon is made in India. Tata owns the design of the car's frame and co-developed its petrol and diesel engines. The major exceptions are the electric variants, which use battery cells from Chinese companies (EVE and Gotion), and the automatic emergency braking and driver-assist system supplied by Bosch.

How it's Sourced: The Nexon was first launched in 2017 and updated in late 2025 with driver-assist features. It is built on a frame that has been refined over many years in India. Production has moved to a highly automated factory in Sanand, Gujarat (which Tata bought from Ford), while some versions are put together in Pune.
